AC Service Cost in Kalyan, Dombivli and Thane: 2026 Price Guide

Most AC service enquiries we receive start with one sentence: “What will it cost?” It is a fair question, and a vague answer is usually a sign that the technician has not seen the unit. This guide publishes the same rate card our team works from, explains what each line actually includes, and shows the conditions that push a job above the standard price.

What a standard AC service includes

A “service” is not one thing. In 2026, residential servicing in this region falls into four practical levels, and the price difference between them is mostly time and water.

Dry or lite service (₹399). A visit where the filters are removed and washed, the front panel and blower mouth are wiped, airflow is checked, and the unit is run to confirm cooling. No coil cleaning, no water jet. It suits a unit serviced within the last year that only needs airflow restored.

Standard jet service (₹549). The cooling coil and blower wheel are cleaned with a water jet using a service bag or sheet, drain tray is flushed, and the unit is reassembled and tested. This is what most homes actually need once a year.

Foam jet service (₹649). A foaming coil cleaner is applied, allowed to react, then jetted off. It is used where the coil has visible build-up or a musty smell that plain water does not shift.

Deep dismantle service (₹1,349). The indoor unit is opened further, the coil is cleaned off the wall where access allows, and the blower is cleaned properly. Reserved for units that have gone two or more years without service, or that have been used during renovation work.

The 2026 rate card at a glance

These are labour-and-material-included rates for standard access. Copper piping, brackets, stabilisers and electrical work are quoted separately because the requirement differs from flat to flat.

Five things that move the price

1. Access. A unit at 2.4 metres with a clean balcony is a twenty-minute job. A unit above a false ceiling, behind a wardrobe, or on a facade that needs a ladder and safety harness is not. Access is the single most common reason a quote changes.

2. Tonnage and unit type. A 2-ton cassette carries more coil area than a 1-ton split, takes longer to clean, and uses more water. Cassette and ducted units are priced per unit after inspection, not from a list.

3. Condition at arrival. Heavily soiled blowers, rusted drain trays and units that have housed pigeons take extra labour. This is why we ask for one photo of the indoor unit before confirming a slot.

4. Combination work. If a unit needs a service and a gas top-up, both are done in one visit and the second item costs less in labour than booking it separately.

Why the cheapest quote often costs more

• Filter-only “service”. The unit is opened, filters rinsed, panel wiped, and the visit ends. Cooling coil and blower stay dirty, so the unit loses airflow within weeks.
• Gas pushed without diagnosis. A unit that is not cooling is quoted for gas before pressure is checked. If there is a leak, the gas leaves again and the customer pays twice.
• No written scope. What was included is decided verbally, so a return visit becomes a new charge.

Ask one question before booking: “Is the cooling coil and blower included, and will that be confirmed in writing?” The answer tells you what kind of visit you are buying.

How to book so there are no surprises

Send four details and a quote can be accurate without a site visit: the unit type (split, window, cassette), the tonnage printed on the indoor unit sticker, the floor and access, and what the unit is doing wrong. One photo of the indoor unit and one of the outdoor unit covers the rest.

On the day, the technician should confirm the scope before starting, keep the service sheet under the unit, and test cooling for at least ten minutes after reassembly. Ask for the drain to be flushed — a blocked drain is the most common reason a freshly serviced unit starts dripping within a fortnight.

Payment terms, any parts used, and the next recommended service date should be on the sheet. If a part is needed, get the model number and the price approved before fitting.
